Playing Rugby
Triad Rugby Football Club fields a men’s and women’s team competing in Division III club rugby through the Carolina Geographical Rugby Union. Based in Greensboro, the team trains year around, playing 15s in Fall and Spring, and 7s during the summer. TRFC draws players from Greensboro, Winston-Salem and farther afield for practice, games, community events, and socials.
Historically, the Triad Rugby Football Club was formed in 1981 as a merger between the Winston Salem and Greensboro clubs. In 2018, Triad Rugby officially started its Division III women’s team.
Triad Rugby is always looking for experienced and rookie players. Track, football, soccer, wrestling, and other athletes have transferred their skills and fitness to great success in rugby. Rugby is a growing sport in the US and so is our club! If you have never played rugby, give it a try and come out to practice. All you need are cleats, a sturdy shirt/jersey and a mouth guard. If you have questions or want details about practice times, email us at Triadrugby@gmail.com (Men’s) or triadwrfc@gmail.com (Women’s).
We practice on Tuesday / Thursday at 7pm:
Pilot Elementary School 4701 Chimney Springs Drive Greensboro, NC 27407 (we practice on the field behind the school)
